Search & local metrics
Search Console and Google Business Profile snapshots · April 2026.
01 / The brief
The brief
This work covered two WordPress service businesses: a Miami window-treatment company and a South Florida smart-film installer. Client names are withheld for confidentiality.
The work examined crawl and indexation, Search Console data, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, schema, images, content and local-search consistency. The aim was to identify useful implementation priorities rather than deliver an unfiltered list of tool warnings.
02 / The challenge
The challenge
Case 1 already had substantial search exposure, but duplicate metadata and headings, missing image text, oversized images, mobile performance and weak internal structure created opportunities for improvement.
Case 2 combined an emerging service category with a need for stronger technical and local-search foundations. Completed improvements and the next implementation priorities are separated below.
03 / The decisions
The decisions
- Case 1: audit crawl and indexation, clean URL structure, improve internal linking, update schema, fix FAQ issues and optimize images and performance.
- Case 1: research keywords, restructure headings and content, improve existing articles, add commercial pages and align the site with the Google Business Profile; 20+ citations were completed.
- Case 2: complete the technical audit, schema updates, speed review, image optimization, tracking review and page-structure alignment.
- Case 2: implement a keyword plan, two location pages, two SEO posts, page optimization, GBP work, NAP alignment and 30+ backlinks and citations.
- Case 2: retain further crawl/indexation fixes, an internal-linking map, citation cleanup and an authority plan as planned work, not completed delivery.
04 / Results and performance
Results and performance
The April 2026 figures show organic search visibility and local interactions during ongoing improvement work. Paid campaigns were also active for the second business; each channel is reviewed against its own objectives.
| April 2026 measure | Case 1: window treatments | Case 2: smart film |
|---|---|---|
| Search impressions | 50.9K | 3.5K |
| Organic clicks | 181 | 80 |
| Search CTR | 0.36% | 2.25% |
| Average position | 23.2 | — |
| GBP impressions | 970 | 1,105 |
| GBP interactions | 183 | 116 |
| GBP calls | 25 | 15 |
The first business also recorded 3,100 search queries, eight third-party tracked AI mentions and 18 cited pages across AI surfaces. AI mentions and cited pages measure visibility separately from website traffic and enquiries.
The second business recorded 401 backlinks (+13%) and 160 referring domains (+6%). These authority indicators are separate from Search Console clicks and Google Business Profile interactions.
05 / What this project demonstrates
What this project demonstrates
Find the issue, explain its business relevance, prioritize by likely impact and effort, implement the agreed scope, then verify. Technical SEO becomes more useful when its recommendations connect to site structure, content, local visibility and a clear record of what was actually completed.
The takeaway
Use real search data to prioritize fixes, verify implementation and distinguish completed work from the next stage.
